John ‘JohnJohn’ McLellan is an American junior karting driver competing internationally with Ward Racing. With more than six years of racing experience across the United States, Mexico, Italy and Australia, he reached a major milestone in 2026 by finishing on the podium at the FIA Karting World Cup. Known for his optimism, ambition and friendly spirit on the grid, JohnJohn is working toward becoming an international karting champion and, ultimately, a professional Formula racing driver.
John ‘JohnJohn’ McLellan is a 13-year-old American racing driver from Redondo Beach, California. Competing internationally with Ward Racing, he achieved a standout result in 2026 by securing a podium finish at the FIA Karting World Cup. His 2026 campaign also includes fourth place at the WSK Euro Series finale in Cremona against a 64-driver international field.
His other 2026 results include pole positions, two heat-race victories and the fastest lap at IAME Series Italy Racing Formula. JohnJohn’s racing program combines European competition with selected United States events as he continues to develop toward the highest levels of international karting and, ultimately, Formula racing.
THE STORY
Born and raised in Redondo Beach, California, JohnJohn McLellan has spent nearly half his life chasing speed. A lifelong passion for vehicles led him from two-wheeled motorbikes to four-wheeled racing karts during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Since then, JohnJohn has raced across the United States, Mexico, Italy and Australia, competing in the OK-N Junior, OK-Junior, KA100 Junior, X30 Junior, Rotax Junior MAX, Mini Swift and Micro Swift classes. His passion, discipline and raw pace have earned him more than 88 career podiums and 34 race wins in six years of competition.
In 2025, his performance in Mexico’s national championship earned him the opportunity to compete at the FIA Karting World Cup in Italy. He returned to the international spotlight in 2026, achieving a World Cup podium finish and adding a major international result to his racing record.
When he’s not behind the wheel, JohnJohn is an active student, balancing academics with fitness, surfing and soccer. He trains year-round, dedicating hours each week to physical conditioning and simulator time.
With an infectious personality, humility and relentless ambition, JohnJohn is building his reputation as both a competitive international driver and a brand ambassador — a role model for young racers and a valuable partner for sponsors seeking authentic representation in youth motorsport.
