WSK Euro Series Round 2 – Lonato del Garda, Italy | OK-N Junior | 61 Drivers

Arriving in Italy from Redondo Beach, California, JohnJohn McLellan continued his European campaign with his first appearance in the WSK Euro Series and debut at the iconic South Garda Karting circuit in Lonato del Garda.

McLellan adapted quickly to the challenging circuit, qualifying an impressive P7 in his group against a highly competitive 61-driver OK-N Junior field. The weekend also saw the emergence of a new nickname in the paddock — “J-Mac”.

The opening heat produced a solid P10 finish, but incidents in Heats 2 and 3 resulted in two DNFs despite the speed shown throughout the weekend.

Starting P26 on the Prefinal grid, J-Mac delivered one of his strongest drives of the season. Aggressive from the opening lap, he gained 10 positions to finish P16 on track, making decisive overtakes throughout the race, including a bold outside move in the early stages. His pace remained strong to the checkered flag, highlighted by the fastest lap of the race on Lap 5.

Off the track, the weekend was equally productive. Working closely with the team between sessions, the focus remained on refining brake release, throttle application, and maximizing corner-exit speed—small details that make a significant difference at the highest level of competition.

For a first WSK event and first experience at South Garda Karting, the speed, adaptability and competitive mindset was evident throughout the weekend and reinforced the team’s confidence of coachability heading into the next round.
