California Junior Racer JohnJohn McLellan Shines at WSK Euro Series Finale
CREMONA, ITALY — California junior kart racer JohnJohn “J-Mac” McLellan of Redondo Beach continued his European breakthrough with a fourth-place finish at World Series Karting (WSK) Euro Series Round 3 at Cremona Circuit.
Coming just one week after earning pole position, multiple heat-race victories and the fastest lap of the event at IAME Series Italy, McLellan carried that momentum into one of the most competitive weekends of his European campaign.
Competing with Ward Racing in OK-N Junior, McLellan qualified fifth in his group before producing a series of consistently strong performances in the heat races. After finishing eighth in his opening heat, he followed with consecutive P3 finishes, establishing himself as a contender heading into the final stages of the event.
McLellan continued his front-running performance with a fourth-place finish in the Pre-Final, securing the fifth starting position for the Final. He advanced a position during the decisive race to finish fourth—just one place short of the podium—in a 64-driver international field.
WSK competition attracts many of the leading junior drivers and teams from around the world, making McLellan’s performance at Cremona a significant measure of his continued progress in European karting.
Together, McLellan’s back-to-back performances at Cremona—front-running speed at IAME Series Italy followed by a fourth-place WSK finish—demonstrate the adaptability, consistency and racecraft he has developed during a European season that began later than planned after a broken wrist forced him to miss the opening round.
